Are ideas about children and childhood different? These and other questions will be considered on July 8 at 11 am, when Noble Horizons and the Sharon Historical Society co-host the CT Historical Society's program, "Growing Up in CT".Every generation confronts unique challenges and opportunities, but all experience the emotional highs and lows of childhood and adolescence. This presentation will explore the issues that have faced CT children and adolescents since the 1930s, focusing on four generations: the Silent Generation (born 1928-1945); Baby Boomers (born 1946-64); Generation X (born 1965-1980); and Millennials (born 1982-1996). The program will highlight the cultural and historical trends that shaped the experiences of children and childhood in each period, as well as explore the evolving ideals of childhood and children.
